Tiny Rolling Homes and Minimalist Ideals.

Creative Juice

I know I’ve been super lax lately about getting new tiny house designs up.  I guess you could say it was a dry spell.  But my creative spark lit a fire today and I came up with 2 new designs.  My new designs switch up the bathroom placement.  In other tiny homes it feels to me like the bathroom placement is right out in the open for all to smell.  In my new designs, they’re behind a wall connected to the bedroom.  Each of these also has a bedroom on the main floor and could possibly have sleeping/storage loft overhead if the builder were so inclined.  The design to the left is 8×16 with a 2′ porch.  The design to the right is 8×18. Well, you’ll see.  Here they are in 2d and 3d.  Tell me what you think!

  1. Hi, interesting floorplan you have there. As an owner of a house that is 8′x20′ (homebuilt too), I try to compare my floorplan design with yours (mine is of course different from yours and was my own idea). I like the floorplan to the right better, however, my question is: where’s the toilet? If you make room for a shower, one would expect you have space for a toilet too. The space where the kitchen is, is also labeled as a “living room” in your floorplan. And I see it would be about an 8×8′ space. Have you accounted for the doors that swing into the house? In my house, I have doors on each end (they swing indoors) and they significantly crowd the place when opened and closed, even into the 8×8′ space. Anyway, good luck with your projects!

    • I love the Gypsy Ark! If i had the $$ I would buy it in a heartbeat! plus it’s in the area that I would eventually like to move to. ah well, such is life.
anyway, as far as door swing and placement, I love the idea of french doors but i’m just not so sure about putting them on a tiny house. I like to leave the details like window and door placement up to the imagination. it’s all customizeable and people like to change things like that anyway. and the bathroom is a wet bath so the toilet is in the shower area as well. or you could extend the bath into the closet space and have a separate potty… it’s all up to whoever is building it.
      Thanks for the feedback!

  2. Very cool.
